Taxi meters are legal tariffs. Tuk-tuks have no meter and no universal price list, so the app uses distance bands cross-checked against current local fare guidance.

Place names are matched in Thailand and routed over the road network—not measured in a straight line.

Traffic and negotiation aren’t fake precision. You get a defensible band and a clear hard ceiling.

Practical tuk-tuk and non-Bangkok ranges are estimates, not regulated fares. A route, weather, event, late hour, unusually large group, or access restriction can justify a higher price. Ride-hail apps use live dynamic pricing, so always check the app before accepting a street quote.
